On Wednesday morning, a White House official told The Huffington Post's correspondent S.V. Dáte that Hope Hicks, the White House Director of Strategic Communications, has been promoted to Interim Communications Director.
The story was first reported by The Daily Caller, albeit without the “interim” designation.
Hicks, who originally came into the Trump fold by working for Ivanka Trump's clothing company, has been with the Trump political machine since the start of the campaign, always in a communications role of some sort.
